Filling in for Rev. Hannah Sotak in Rutland, Vermont, while she was in Taizé, France, on a pilgrimage with the Bishop. The church was in the middle of a sermon series on the names of God, and the first one with which I was presented was Jehovah Shammah, or “God is there.” Jehovah Shammah was to be the name of Jerusalem following the post-exilic reconstruction of the city.
